IBAFF postpones its 12th edition, which will be held from the 8th to the 16th of October
The aim is for it to be a mostly face-to-face edition, and one of the most international in the history of the event.
Murcia City Council has decided to postpone the celebration of the twelfth edition of the IBAFF International Film Festival due to the lack of so-called ‘normality’ that the evolution of the pandemic is still generating. Although the health authorities and current restrictions do not expressly prevent holding the festival, the Department of Culture considers that the lack of international mobility makes it difficult for the event to develop to its expected potential.
This edition, which was already moved from June 8th to 26th, is expected to be one of the most international in the history of the event. In order to safeguard this philosophy, the goal of holding a mostly face-to-face edition, and the hope of maintaining the attendance of juries and guests from all over the world, Murcia City Council has agreed to postpone it to October. Under this guideline of the Consistory, the IBAFF Festival team has set a new date for the contest, which will be from the 8th to the 16th of October.
Likewise, in the coming days the measures to be taken regarding logistics and management of commitments already undertaken will be made public. The IBAFF festival would like to thank in advance all the suppliers, professionals in the audiovisual sector, teachers, citizens, associations and groups involved in the already very advanced programming of this edition for their trust and collaboration. The festival organisation hopes to continue to count on them all on the new dates because, as always, the success of this edition will depend on their presence.
As autumn arrives and brings with it the moment to greet the audience again in the cinemas, the IBAFF - Murcia International Film Festival team will continue working tirelessly, as it has done until now, to try to offer Murcian citizens an unforgettable edition.
